Born in Athens, descendant of an old Athenian family, he studied at the ‘‘ACADEMIA DI BELLI ARTI DI PERUZIA’’ and the ‘‘INSTITUTO STATALE DI ARTI’’ in Florence. After training next to several of the best Italian craftsmen in Florence and Venice he went to Paris, where he was instantly discovered by the fashion team of French ELLE and the director of The Museum of Fashion and Decorative Arts of the Louvre.
Introduced by them to the Parisian scene, Aris Geldis created a special collection, exposed in the Museum of Fashion and Decorative Arts in the Louvre and sold his first collection to Maria Luisa, the famous shop of the rue Cambon.
Since then, his career has flourished and his personal style and passion for the refined wild stuff (his definition of his own work) have been recognised by some of the biggest Parisian fashion houses.
Aris Geldis has collaborated with
Chanel,
Alexander McQueen for Givenchy Couture and
Ungaro Couture.
He currently designs for the Haute Couture of Christian Lacroix.
